The situation

A fleet manager at a parcel delivery company runs a depot with 30 electric vans. Twelve sales staff also drive electric company cars, which they charge at home.

In half an hour, the first vans return from their rounds.

The questionWhat changes for a company whose vehicles run on electricity?

New vans in the EUShare by motor energy
Electric
Other

133,029 electric vehicles of 1,343,684 new goods road motor vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes in the EU in 2025, after 89,093 of 1,471,307 in 2024.

Vans are catching up

About 1.3 million new vans and other were registered in the EU in 2025. Almost one in ten was electric, up from about one in sixteen the year before.

From the pump to the parking space

A combustion fleet refuels at a station, in minutes, anywhere. An electric fleet charges where its vehicles stand still: overnight at the depot, at the employee's home, during the working day at the office. Energy becomes part of the site, with its grid connection, chargers and software, and three questions become daily routine:

  • Where does each vehicle charge?
  • When does it have to be ready?
  • Who pays, and how is it accounted for?
