A van or small truck for goods with a maximum mass of up to 3.5 tonnes, category N1 in EU vehicle approval.

About 1.3 million new vans and other light goods vehicles were registered in the EU in 2025. Almost one in ten was electric, up from about one in sixteen the year before.
