How are charging costs tracked across a fleet?
The last van finishes charging. The depot backend closes 30 sessions.
Earlier that day, a sales car charged at a motorway fast charger with the company's charging card.
The questionHow does every kilowatt-hour end up on the right vehicle's account?
| Record | Vehicle known by | |
|---|---|---|
| Depotown charge points | session in the backend | card, AutoCharge, bay |
| Publicprovider's card | charge detail record | the token used |
| Homewallbox or car | meter readings | the company car |
Joined by vehicle, the three streams give energy and cost per vehicle, per driver and per kilometre.
Public sessions arrive as records
When a company card is used at a public charger, the operator's names the that started the session, together with the location, start and end time, total energy in kWh and total cost. The token carries a and can be grouped with others, for example a card and a key fob that work as one. The provider bills the company, and the token links each line to a driver or vehicle.
One view per vehicle
The depot sessions come from the company's own backend; the home sessions from the wallbox or the car (stop 05). Put together per vehicle, they show what a van costs per kilometre in energy, and where the fleet charges most. Charge detail records are explained in OCPI and roaming.
