How do fleets track public charging costs per vehicle?

Each public session arrives as a charge detail record that names the token used, with energy, time, place and cost; a token per vehicle or driver links it.

Fleet charging · Stop 06How are charging costs tracked across a fleet?Depot sessions, public charge detail records and home meter readings: three streams of records, and how they are joined by vehicle into one view of cost.

When a company card is used at a public charger, the operator's charge detail record names the token that started the session, together with the location, start and end time, total energy in kWh and total cost. The token carries a contract ID and can be grouped with others, for example a card and a key fob that work as one. The provider bills the company, and the token links each line to a driver or vehicle.
