Can a CDR be changed after it was sent?
Not directly. OCPI treats CDRs like invoices: a wrong CDR is cancelled with a credit CDR and replaced by a corrected one.
Explained in
How does a CDR settle a session? The charge detail record from session end to invoice: push or pull, signed meter data, and why a CDR is never deleted, only credited.A CDR is used for billing and can be seen as a kind of invoice, so OCPI does not allow it to be deleted. If a CDR turns out to be wrong, the operator sends a credit CDR for it, and then a new, corrected CDR. Both sides keep the full history.
Terms
- OCPIOpen Charge Point Interface: an open protocol for roaming between operators and e-mobility service providers.
- CDRCharge detail record: the digital receipt of a session, with energy, duration and tariff.
- Credit CDRA record that cancels a CDR already sent; OCPI does not allow CDRs to be deleted, so corrections run through credit CDRs.
